 Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is a campaign by the Government of India to clean the streets, roads and infrastructure of the country's 4,041 statutory cities and towns

 Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is a national level campaign launched by the Government of India, which aims to clean the streets, roads and infrastructure. This campaign was started on 02 October 2014 on the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi. Mahatma Gandhi gave a good message to the nation by giving education to the people around him to maintain cleanliness.The objective of Clean India is to reduce or eliminate open defecation through the construction of people, clusters and community toilets. Swachh Bharat Mission will also take an initiative to set up accountable mechanisms for monitoring the use of the mission. The government has achieved 1.2 crore toilets of estimated cost of Rs 1.96 lakh crore (US $ 30 billion) in the rural India till the 150th anniversary of the birth of Mahatma Gandhi on October 2, 2019, to achieve Shanti Free India (ODF) in the open. The activities being done during this period include-

    Maintaining and cleaning school gardens
    Annual maintenance of school buildings with dyeing and panting.
    Organizing competitions on essay, debate, painting, cleaning and hygiene.
