This is the longest dam (4.8 km) of India built in Mahanadi on the border of Orissa and Chhattisgarh.
    
This scheme was started for flood control in Delta areas of Mahanadi.

Located in the Satluj river in Punjab, India is the largest multi-purpose project.
    
It is the world's highest gravitational dam located in the seismic zone.
    
The lake named after this dam is Govind Sagar, which is named after 10th Guru Govind Singh of the Sikhs.
    
Indira Canal has been developed from Rajasthan under its subsidiary Indira Gandhi Project. Which is India's largest canal system.

Under this, 5 major dams have been constructed. Rani Avanti Sagar (Bargi Dam), Indira Sagar, Sardar Sarovar Dam, Maheshwar Dam, Omkareshwar Dam.
